Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

How does today look?

I barely got any sleep worrying about more layoffs.

I guarantee if the anonymous labels were removed and we could see each other’s ages the millennials and snowflakes would dominate these forums. I could also tell who was born 1985 and earlier by the maturity shown in their comments. If you can’t handle the stress, grow up and learn how. Stop taking whatever psychiatric meds you’ve been on since childhood or stop smoking pot and open your eyes to life. I know mommy and daddy shielded you from it and your pediatrician medicated you as a child to function as a compliant little soldier. You were lied to. Now pull those pants up and handle it. Negative vote away.

Saw this on the Fargo layoff site. Looks like 10/02 is a common day for layoffs.

In your control. Polish your resume. Do mock interviews. Make a list of career contacts outside. Call that list networking for opportunities. Apply for jobs. Decide what skills you want to improve. Find out how to improve them and make it happen. Cut your expenses and increase savings. Practice being an effective delegator to free your time. Balance your day between planning for the future elsewhere, executing those plans, and completing necessary survival task. Just a few things. Focus on this work and you will be to busy to worry. Bonus you will have soft landing or possibly take off like a rocket when the time comes.

“ Okay. Time to pull on your grownup pants and work. Put your resume out and in the meantime, do your job.”

Do your job - that’s rich when you consider that if Executive Leadership had done its job, we wouldn’t be in this position. Accountability MUST start at the top!

I feel for you. It may help to list the things you can control. This layoff is not in your control. Do what's being asked of you. Exercise, get your rest. You will be fine.

We have an impromptu meeting with Jay Poole and he started the conversation with Ken M leaving. Trying to keep all the rumors in contained.

Okay. Time to pull on your grownup pants and work. Put your resume out and in the meantime, do your job. Worrying does nothing except to make you ill. People are such wimps today.

I’ve been laid off. It’s horrible and very scary especially as a single person. Can freaking out and worrying about it now change anything? Nope.

Sorry to be harsh, but now is the time to pull up your big boy/girl pants and grow up.

Do not let poor management impact your life. Bad companies don't make it through tough times, good people do.
