I hear this wasn't the first time.
I never wanted to work for WF because of its reputation of lay offs, but here I am. Now I’m constantly worried about it. I would like to work 3 more years. I’m not even sure if WF will be here in 3 years.
My job is great, my directs are great, and my manager is great. Unfortunately everyone above that is horrendous, is intentionally tanking morale, and clearly doesn't care about actual work just corporate nonsense, checking boxes, pandering, and wasting time/money. Once this clown show in Hudson Yards goes, there's a chance this company will recover. Maybe not, but there's a chance. That's why I'm still here.

The executives are very happy. They don't care what others say as long as they get paid millions of dollars.
I’m pretty happy, but then again i don’t take my job as seriously as some on here do. I show up, do my job, get paid, and leave work at work. I do not care if i’m a meets vs exceeds vs whatever as the difference in raises isn’t worth the stress. This site is nice comedic relief.
Not hating, but you came to the wrong place to find happy employees.
It's a paycheck. And the answer is complicated because I like the work that I do but I don't really like some of the people I work for and with. I'm under manager number 6 within 3 years, who also happens to be my second worst manager I've had so far. At this current rate I figure I'll just wait another six to eight months and I'll probably have another manager by then.
Definitely not. I’m not worried about layoffs because I’m a top performer, but have zero incentive to go above other than a paycheck.
Wells Fargo doesn't have enough money to keep staff level associates because they still need to pay multi million dollar salaries to the executives. Don't worry, the executives are in good hands for their future retirements. Corporations have built a class society within the organization between the haves and the have-nots, the rulers and the ruled.
Many of us worked for this company for so many years, and we will not be leaving empty handed without our severance package.
I suspect you are one of the employees who qualify for DEI and LGBTQ, so your boss needs to keep you. I also suspect you are one of the associates in Florida that are allowed to be 100% remote.

Being told that budgets are tight when management is spending $30B on a pointless stock buyback is surfire way to raise morale.
Why wouldn't that indicate bright futures for employees?
When the CEO makes on average 300% more than the average worker, yet chops jobs - based on location rather than performance to save money....how can anyone be happy?
We lost over half our team, top performers, and the workload more than doubled for those who remain.

The issue is the ACTIONS of WF do not align with it's own Mission, Vision and Values.
I used to be very happy to work here. Even through my telecommute agreement being dissolved, the location strategies being in and out of effect and lay-offs and reorgs were occurring I felt as if things were going well. However I must have been insulated as everything essentially changed on 1/1/2023 for me.
I am actively seeking outside employment but I won't leave for any ole position.

I used to be... until the threat of offshoring my team has been hinted at. Nothing like waiting every week to see if you get the chop.
The work I do, whilst ridiculous at any other company, is easy enough; I am paid extremely well and there is very little stress.
That being said, when the chop comes, I'm going to be in some cr-p trying to find a job even close to what I'm making here. Had hoped to retire from here - even w/ the ridiculousness that is WF. C'est la vie

I lead a great team. Boss doesn’t micro manage. My bonus is to my liking and I am exceeds with a 5-8% raise past two years. Not trying to rub it in as much as to say I am content. Not the end all be all for a career, but it pays the bills and don’t mind being at work. I am sorry that some of y’all are not getting the same experience. Good luck out there.
That's like asking if you are happy with PTSD. Everyone I know on shore fears being fired because so many people, good people who are valuable to a well managed company, have been let go, and the blood letting us continuous.

The only bonding employees do at WF is trauma bonding. It is a deeply sick culture. That will be apparent when you start working elsewhere.
