It very much depends on the group. In mine, it was 'good old days' until 2022. Been here 20+. Loved my job. People would ask and I would gush. Then Charlie decided to ki-l the company and I doubt it will ever be a good place to work again.
Why should I try hard now that our team is full of people that can’t do the work?
In my 20+ years there never was the good 'ol days, wish it otherwise for each of us who didn't complain and kept showing up despite the reality of things.
When were those days? Going on 19 years and it’s never been the case in any group I’ve worked. It’s been bubbly butt kissers, without fail.
That ended in about 2004 as far as I remember.

Wells Fargo is a "who you know" and not a "what you know" company. I guess in banking that does not make much of a difference in making profits.
When equality became “equity” meritocracy died.
Ummm...when? It's always been a good ol boys club. Just the members change. The problem now is that they don't even try to hide it anymore.
