Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

No more guaranteed retirement

With all the layoffs and all the - often forced - attrition, we are at the point where we are more likely to get eaten by a shark than successfully retire from Truist. Remember when this was considered to be a job for life? I wish we could go back to that time. The new and "improved" merged bank is my worst nightmare.

Pay raises are for people that give speeches. You do actual work and should get back to it so we can pay to hear the auditory genius of our great leaders.

I have an idea. It seems a meaningful % of the current struggles can be attributed to poor client service, and resulting client attrition. In addition, I would hazard a guess that many, if not most, existing clients are unhappy with the service level they are currently receiving from Truist.

My solution is this. I say we lay off even more client service personnel, treat our remaining employees as disposable irritants, and cut back (on already poor) service technology. This kind of strategic thinking should at least warrant me a 27% salary bump like Bill, don’t you think?

Are you just now recognizing this nightmare? No offense, but where have you been for the last, what has it been, 4.5 years since the merger was first announced? It was pretty obvious to most employees on both sides from the start that this was going to be the outcome.
