What exactly is the negative here? I do this as a standard. Prep, give big notice, get walked out day of or day later, reap 4 weeks of pay vs 2 weeks. WIN. Whatever point you’re trying to make is lost because, in this case, they didn’t even stay for the two weeks so this dude gets paid two weeks vacation.
If you’re attempting to claim he was actually Terminated (and not simply told he doesn’t have to complete the notice period) then you or he are lying just to get a rise out of people and that’s not how labor law anywhere works.
And even walked out early without 4 weeks pay, now you have atleast 2 weeks of completely non-working vacation to do with as you please. Apparently you haven’t been employed very long if you don’t do this. Or let me guess, you’re assuming this coworker didn’t get the 4 weeks pay and due to your poor life decisions you live pay check to pay check and that two weeks would devastate you?
