Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Full time job is a ki-ler to your dreams

You're getting paid well for a full time job and "security"....
This is the time to get out of your comfort zone and do what you were called to do!!
You have a talent, now go out and do it. This is the time!!!!

I made the jump last year and I couldn't be happier. I waited 23 years to finally make the leap of faith. Now I love what I'm doing and only wish I made the jump sooner.
It's never too late. If you have a skill/talent at something, go out and do it. I'm rooting for you. Leave this toxic, slave driving, place and do what you were called to do!

Simon Cowell is in the house!

Even slackers have a “talent” if they remain employed doing nothing.
It takes a certain “skill” to know what you can get away with,

“ One also needs to understand their limitations & not overrate/overstate their “talent”. To that effect, I’d venture to guess that 50-60% of people have no legitimate, tangible natural “talent” (which isn’t acquired skill or knowledge).”

get out of your comfort zone
First, if I am in a comfort zone, and second, the money is right, why wouldn't I stay on the gravy train? There would be a lot less stress that way. There is more to life than work. So, if I have the work part squared away, I'm not going to mess with that.

I would leave AT&T if I'm not in my comfort zone, or the money isn't enough.

So where do you work now and what exactly do you do?

I’d warn against making any rash or fool-hearty decisions. One has to know the full details & reality of how (truly) good another “opportunity” really is. One also needs to understand their limitations & not overrate/overstate their “talent”. To that effect, I’d venture to guess that 50-60% of people have no legitimate, tangible natural “talent” (which isn’t acquired skill or knowledge).

It seems odd and a little sad to obsess over AT&T if you left. I would've moved on and never looked back.

Glad it worked out for you. Everyone has to forge their own individual path.

AT&T might not be right for you, but for someone else it could be a good fit.
