End of Dec?

Sambar org, specifically those in Dallas and Atlanta are getting some leader training. It has a self pace part (like PLE courses), followed by 16 hours of virtual (camera on) and then 2.5 days of in person training. I wonder how much this is costing T? All levels of people will take this.
" I wasn’t even aware there was any training group left, haven’t seen any leader-led training for 10+ years. "
LOL
The last time anyone in my group saw any formal training for any of the systems we maintain . . . . . . we were still SBC :P
THAT'S how stupid this place is.
10/19 and then 11/17 according to the leaked link with the dates from a few weeks ago. So far the other dates on that link have been correct.”
Is this a link to a doc on insider? If it is still available, anyone have it?
Also, anyone know of instances where a retirement eligible management employee has requested their manager include them in a future surplus and how that went? If the 11/17 date is real I am considering asking my manger to us surplus me.
We had one on Friday, One of my team will be gone in 2 weeks. My team was lucky many teams in my building and in my department lost quite a few more.

"Are these dates for management, off cycle occupational or both?"
I am not the original poster but can confirm that these dates are for management...both those choosing not to relocate as well as additional surplus.
“You can’t sit around and expect a paycheck.”
Don’t tell that to those refusing to RTO
Defiant doesn't even begin to describe it!
People refusing to RTO will continue to be surplused. They are being defiant.
Every 2 weeks there is business unit impacted by layoffs. This will continue for the next 2 years.
Declined to "follow the work." (No more weekend catch-up for you, AT&T).
11/3 notification then off payroll before Thanksgiving for me.
All this is verbal with my manager. There is absolutely no written guidance on what to expect from "senior leadership." Or verbal, either; townhalls are about parking tips, securing a good spot to sit (basically arrive before seven), and progress on the vending machine offerings.
Except for a desperate push to find workarounds for what I do (hint: ain't laundry or Costco), it's as if AT&T TWs already don't exist ("no, I won't be participating in the Dallas heart walk, did you see where I'm located?").
DEG to be eliminated 4th quarter in the SE. The union refused to have them carry an extension ladder to help out others when little DEG work. That’s how it goes. You can’t sit around and expect a paycheck.

I heard another surplus will be coming. Too many moths to feed and not enough peanut butter.
Big surplus events are likely over, what you can count on is the regular tempo of surplus announcements every 60-90 days until T hits the target headcount of 75k. RTO and all the other crazy business changes will continue and likely intensify until then. You’ll also see small pieces of the business shed as they continue to raise capital. Cash flow is king at T, however is being impacted by slow pay and the economy in general.

“RTO is going to continue through next and beyond, till they hit their employee head count number from attrition, layoffs and outsourcing.”
Agreed, this RTO won’t last forever though. Just watch. Keep your head up.

I agree that union layoffs will pick up after the MOA for outside techs expires but disagree about management layoffs. The company plans to continue reevaluating and have more management layoffs next year.
It’s “ensure” not “insure”
I’ll make a prediction that management layoffs will peak in the 4th quarter while union layoffs will be stronger in 2024. We won’t have much longer to wait.
For those impacted in dec the last date on payroll will be dec 1. My friend in finance said many orgs are getting additional targets on top of those leaving because of RTO. Now days the company only provides 2 weeks after being notified. So notification will take place in nov and last day on payroll will be 12/1/23. Months his is for management employees
Thank u att for the Christmas gift!
Changing market trends requires our leaders to make sound decisions to insure a successful business. We should applaud their efforts.
Nothing in Dist 9
Barely have enough techs to nap in their trucks as it is
“I have an inside source, it’s 09/25/2023”
For management? Off cycle occupational? Or both?
I have an inside source, it’s 09/25/2023
10/15
Will have to be at least 2 weeks before the eoy to make sure those impacted will be off the books by eoy, typically giving employees 2 weeks notice now
I wasn’t even aware there was any training group left, haven’t seen any leader-led training for 10+ years.
AT&T University is 12/1 entire training design team being outsourced to vendor in india
Occupational has announcements every quarter with continual layoffs and attrition. Middle to lower management has joined on scale the last 2 years prior to that, not so much. Upper management open their golden parachute package, though rarely happens.
11/3 for some orgs for those who declined RTO.
Occupational = DEC 15.
Management = Anytime
