Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Has October as the layoff month been confirmed?

Massive layoffs coming in October, it's going to be brutal.

Is this confirmed?

Regardless of my true POS status US based employees are being led to the sla-ghter (WFR'd) for cheaper labor. If workers really knew what corporate leadership though of us maybe we could change things with a work slowdown and malicious compliance.

It makes a lot of sense to the business. Why take a legacy employee at high pay when you can get a new hire for 50k or even better offshore the work and save. It's all about the $$. If anyone thinks that HPE cares about legacy/core accounts or the US based employee they deserve to get ✂️

That doesn't make any sense that they wouldn't want legacy workers, if you work for hpe you know the insane amount of time it takes for training on these products, it would be way quicker to train a legacy worker on the Green lake procrss than getting a newbie off the street

Well in a couple of days we will know what Monday brings. I have noticed that if you are a legacy HPE employee that they do not want you in the GreenLake business segment and would rather lay you off.

Do they still wfr with two different all team meetings?
If you're invited to the first meeting you're cut if you get the later meetings you get one more year until the next round.

Here's a somewhat useful tip, in Outlook check your manager's and team member's calendars for meeting availability on Monday morning, if you see your manager's day blocked full of 30 minute meetings then those represent layoffs about to happen. Gives you a good indication of who on your team will be let go.

My manager just told me on the DL that this batch of WFR recipients are getting the worst severance package he has seen in his 20+ years of laying people off.

It's October fest at HPE. It has been a yearly festival of WFR's for my 8 years at Hpe.
Will I survive this round? place your bets.

I bet even more layoffs come as customers find out what a joke Greenlake is compared to real cloud service providers.

They have been asking for volunteers for the WFR program in this week's team meetings. Those dreaded Monday morning calls start in 3 days. They all start the same way, "This is a conversation we don't want to have" but here we are again.

Some NA and India layoffs began the week the reorg was announced. Some really good people. I am in an org being moved into Fidelma’s new cloud org. All the leaders that have been assigned to the private cloud org within are all from the Storage BU. Makes no sense at all.

Yep, if you're a NA sales rep and you're not channel-friendly, not selling Greenlake, and you're not making your number this year then you're a goner.

They always do it in the second week in October. Gives them 2 weeks to get you off the books before the beginning of the new year.

On another note, anyone remember when HP would have a big bash in the office to start off the new year? That was back when they would bend over backwards to find you a new position in the company if your job went away. I remember a guy who worked in facilities for a year before he found a fit. They would let you keep your same pay for 2 years too.
