Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Stankey walks in....with NO IDEAS

Stankey walks in.... and all he said to the employees is
"what is for lunch today?" (real story)
He has lost so much money this dude.
Who made him the leader of a major technology company?
He only has a Master in Business.
He hired a Bachelor in Arts for CTO. "Jeremy"

WE HAVE NO RESEARCH, NO INNOVATIONS, and ...NO IDEAS.
That makes money.
All we do is lease all ...antennas, poles, equipment, buildings...
and ...we owe 168.69 Billion

LET THE TROLLS begin ...

Stankey walks in and you quiver in your boots, then you come here to post anonymously because you would be on your knees begging if he knew who you were.

Not to scenario you envision, not even close.

AT&T is not a “technology” company. Pretty much all attempts at developing applications or technical solutions are abject failures. AT&T is a sales and marketing company. Technology, what little of it actually happens at T, is an afterthought.

Wait ... someone actually posted that Stink is liked by 54% of the company... and they think that's impressive?

If a CEO has a very small majority of approval they are really bad at their job.

You must take everything literally.
That makes life hard.

When someone is called a gumshoe, they mean they’re a detective.
It doesn’t mean there is gum under their shoe.

Stank is an id--t. He learned nothing in his UCLA Executive MBA program and is totally unqualified to be a CEO

Stankey is not an Id--t. Id--t is a medical term to describe a mental impairment. These definitions have fallen out of favor in the medical community several decades ago, but still remain in the common lexicon.

Allow us to read from Merriam Webster the definitions:

Id--ts. —Those so defective that the mental development never exceeds that or a normal child of about two years.
Imbeciles. —Those whose development is higher than that of an id--t, but whose intelligence does not exceed that of a normal child of about seven years.
Mo--ns. —Those whose mental development is above that of an imbecile, but does not exceed that of a normal child of about twelve years.

Stankey is none of these. He is a high functioning narcissist though. That is enough to be the CEO, apparently. That is scary.

I’m siding with the “get over it” crowd. We are a telco. If every supervisor, level 1 and up all the way to Stankey suddenly got Covid and we’re out for 2 weeks, or 2 months, every rep, csr, prem tech and biz seller would do their job and keep customers happy. We’d probably do better because supervisors wouldn’t invent more busy work for us. Stankey needs us way more than we need him.

Hey dum-my, AT&T is not a tech company, sorry. It's a telecom company. There is no innovation here, no new technology.
