Thread regarding Follett layoffs

EXIT question for those who’ve been there

I’ve had way too many straws and this camel’s back has been broken way too many times. I’ve stuck it out as long as I have because I love my job, as it used to be. I love my campus family and the relationships that have been built over the years, including with students! I haven’t been able to bare the thought of leaving them high and dry. I’m now leaving, if I survive this fall rush. The thing is, I want to let the school know that the only reason I’m leaving is because I can no longer work for Follett and respect myself and my values of customer service, as well as valuing team members. Have you who have been through this been able to convey that or is there something Follett does to try to keep your mouth shut?

It is time to move on. What you need to remember is that you are here at Follett, or BNED, because the campus outsourced you first. Education is a business just as Follett is a business. You are as disposable as last years text book.

I was honest with my Campus Contact. we had a good relationship. I didn't bad mouth Follett, I just explained why I was unhappy.

If you are a good worker and have built great relationships with campus staff. Then Your actions as well as the way you carry yourself should speak for itself. If you’re feeling the need to explain or tell people anything then that means you fell short somewhere or you’re not confident enough with what you have offered

Be honest, some people have been offered campus jobs due to the great relationships built around campus.

Just be honest. You dont need to over explain, they can see with their own eyes. I had worked with everyone so long, they knew. They knew my work ethic and that my hands were tied in so many ways. They were extremely supportive. You got this.
Spring is usually worse than Fall. Rental checkin, holidays and new term with small window of time. If you've been around for any length of time, you know this is true. It will not get better.
