Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

It’s sad to see the trend of the dramatic change in culture. I also left after a 20+ year career at Cap One

All good things must come to an end

Recommend

CEO Approval

Business Outlook
Pros
100% - the people you work with are the most talented and dedicated you will ever meet.
Cons
What once was a thriving culture of collaboration has become something unrecognizable. Micromanagement up into the senior levels has eroded any sense of empowerment to get the job done. Voices are shut down unless you agree with senior management.
Advice to Management
True back to the core beliefs that the most important part of Capital One's mission is its people.

The fact that you still approve Fairbank suggest you have been the culture problem all this time. It just now caught up to you

This culture has been prevalent for at least 20 years. It was just compartmentalized. Everyone knows your success at Cap rested on the luck of your team/hiring manager

The whole place is rigged. Not good for your career. A paycheck at best. The sleaziest rise to the top here.

I don't ever think Capone was ever a great place to work they've been doing stack rankings for over 20 years. Technology is half baked and lots of people fumbling around aimlessly and non-productive.
