Thread regarding Follett layoffs

The Logic Amazes Me

Can you believe it? They decided to lose an experienced, dedicated store manager who has strong ties and influence with the university staff, all because they didn't want to give a raise. And now, they're ready to pay even more for a new manager who knows nothing about the education industry and has zero connections to the university! It's beyond frustrating, and I can't believe the audacity of our new RMs and GVPs. The ship has sailed found a better opportunity elsewhere.

You can too!!! Don’t wait until it’s too late…

That 100 pay cut was after leaving. I straight up work 40 hours. No weekends, no nights, no attitude even..sometimes your stress levels are worth a small pay cut. In April I will be back where I was before I left. 3 and a half months of job searches when you have 36 years of experience was harder to find because I didn't apply for managers positions..over qualified...so...

So you lost $1.25 an hour? $200 per month? Why a cut back, still doable. Many were demoted with a 30/40% cut. Which was not really a choice. If you had a mortgage / rent and god forbid, a car payment, you can forget about food, lights and heat. A total insult!

I did the a $100 every 2 weeks pay cut but I am appreciated and I don't work more than 8 hours a day regardless of what's going on. They say it will be here tomorrow..go home. No ball games, no missing books, no at not paid, and I learn something new every day. LOVING IT

Fellow Follett Folks: there has to be a secret plan in the Ivory Tower because even the worst of companies would not survive this long with the way things are going. Culling good seasoned managers and replacing them with naive temps who might not even know how to get to work makes little sense. Jamming text and AR functions to people who are already overloaded makes no sense. And then saying the magic word BONUS really ices the cake . Oh to be the fly on the shiithouse wall at CQ!

I am making more and the only stress I have now is watching Follett as a whole and my store in particular go down in flames.

I can't say I'm making more than i was making but I am making more than they offered with no stress. They made the low-ball offer to force us to leave. Only to discover they cannot find help for those wages and are now paying more for less.
