Looking like I'm getting cut soon and curious if I should use the rest of my vacation up

Just focus on finding a new job, getting some money before leaving will be better. COF has to cut budget due to the rising charge off and delinquency rate (and looks the trend will last for awhile). Unfortunately it was handled so ugly and there are no fair rules to play.
I can’t believe how much the culture has changed in 7 years. I’ve been at Cap One for years and got my first below strong at mid year. At this point i’m tired of fighting and i’ve been told it’s a numbers game.
Im waiting on my formal PIP so I can be out. I feel like i’m in an abusive relationship. Everyone that I know that have been PIPED out due to performance have been here 10 and 23 years.
It’s ok there’s like after Cap One and ready to explore other options.
If you’re in a toxic environment and planning on leaving without notice anyway, and don’t see a PIP or layoff in your future, open a STD claim with Sedgwick and get the extension to send in the paperwork. Once your claim is open you can start taking time using PTO (assuming you have it available). When I was there you had like close to 4 weeks to get the initial paperwork, and could buy another 2-3 weeks with the extension. Use your PTO balance to get paid to have the time off and just resign before your Return to Work notice expires. Assuming you’re not planning on giving notice anyway, you wouldn’t be rehired. Might as well get paid by Cap One to take some time off. Not sure if it’s still this way, but they were not allowed (AR wouldn’t allow it) to put you on disciplinary action while the STD claim is open and or pending, or you have an extension pending. Plan it accordingly and take the time starting just before Christmas, then your PTO balance renews in January, up front!! ;)
I left on my own after resigning and did use all my PTO before I left. I hadn’t “earned” the majority of it since I left in March and didn’t work any since the beginning of that year. The department I worked in was incredibly toxic, as I was being bullied and harassed and HR was absolutely no help at all, and in fact catered to the bullying and harassment. Getting any mental health time off was like pulling teeth, so I took all my PTO and resigned when it ran out. They did not take what I owed from my last check. I did get a letter months later saying I “owed” it and to send a check, which I didn’t do and don’t plan on doing. Of course it impacted not being rehired, but I obviously had no intentions of ever going back. At least I got my “mental health” break and got paid by Cap One for it. F*ck them!!
Heed advice below. Do NOT use up your vacation. If you get layed off they pretty much aren't concerned with what you do with your time before your final release date.
If you expect to be cut don’t use vacation time unless you really need it. Like the other reply said accrued vacation will be paid in the final check. Also if by chance the vacation time has not been accrued then you will have it deducted from your pay
Any accrued vacation time not used will be included in your final paycheck.
Nope @Zizou, just my coaching plan ends end of September and I haven't much direction
Why do you say that? You see any new layoffs on the horizon?
