“ So Bill n Beau n Mike having spent the last two years putting Suntrust people in most leadership roles at all levels and spending like drunken sailors on shore leave on play toys like a game boy banking app, selling part of its most consistent revenue producer, losing business in every segment are suddenly going to right the ship with a new game plan. So this is how Bill saved Suntrust, sc--w it up, get paid handsomely, then convince everyone you can fix it, get paid again, then merge with someone. Wow! What a gig these wanna be investment bankers have going.”

While I agree Donta is a problem he is far from the biggest problem. He is nothing more than a DEI placeholder. If you think he makes any decisions you’re delusional. He does what Bill and his boys tell him to do. Nothing more nothing less. Smile, give speeches to organizations and spout the corporate speak as written, collect his millions and stay in his lane. He could be one of the three though because he checks the DEI and ESG boxes. Wouldn’t that be something!
Mike is a boy in an adults game. Trust me.
The market is not buying what Bill is selling. In a year or so he’ll retire to great fanfare and ride off to achieve another purpose.
From US Bank layoff board,( Suntrust people thought US Bank was going to purchase them. KK rode in and gave them a lifeline and sold out BBT to make it happen)
Well Truist is going down the 🚽 with their reorg and impending layoffs. Our execs have been spending an awful lot of time in Charlotte lately. Are we going to buy up parts of Truist’s business, some of their real estate holdings, aquire Truist or put a full fledged hub office in Charlotte (not just one floor in the Truist building)?
I remember the day the SunTrust/BBT merger was announced. I happened to be around a group of Sr. Execs and they laughed when the topic came up. Said we will just wait a few years and buy the whole darn thing. I was horrified as I knew all the good people from both had already left. It's a complete dumpster fire there right now.
U.S. Bank does not have enough capital, especially when considering projected new requirements, to buy any bank (much less a large bank) even if the price were $zero.
We're the banking version of OceanGate. At least EL's arrogant ignorance hasn't ki-led anybody (yet).
How many EVP’s does this company have. Seems to be a lot. Truist seems to have a lot executives managing other executives. Real money is cutting these folks and we have brought in a lot of them last three years.
Future EL right here. Count on it.

Game boy bank app, perfect, meanwhile I just realized the RP’s don’t report directly to Weaver. We have two EVP regional group presidents they report to? Unfingbelieveable!
My dream is that Michael Lewis will someday write a book about the Suntrust/BBT merger and the resulting clusterf*ck known as Truist! (Michael Lewis is the author of Liar's Poker, The Big Short, and Flash Boys.)
