Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Time to Unionize?

Employees who might need some additional protections during these widespread layoffs might consider unionizing. It is illegal for the company to take ANY adverse action against employees who are advocating for collective bargaining. Not a guarantee you can’t be laid off, but would certainly give you a better argument for wrongful termination.

“The National Labor Relations Act gives workers the right to organize a union and bargain collectively, and under that law, it's illegal for employers to fire, demote, transfer, reduce the hours, or “otherwise take adverse action against” employees because they joined or supported a union.”

The Communication Workers of America (CWA) is organizing bank workers through their Committee for Better Banks. They already have unionization efforts at Wells Fargo.
