Post Leaving Guilt

Does anyone else feel guilty for leaving the company/worry on occasion about how they will find adequate coverage for prior processes/automations?

I left several months ago and still feel this on a daily basis. My new role is everything I was hoping for, but I can’t help but I still feel concern for my team & how they are managing.

On the other hand, if I was really that important, maybe they should have paid me more & treated me better and I wouldn’t have had to leave.

Just looking for shared experience/thoughts.

None whatsoever. While I enjoyed people I worked with, never did I feel bad about leaving what became a cr-ppy work environment.

Oh. Was that a serious post? You are gone and you made this decision to leave some friends behind. They are adults in charge of their own career choices. I, for one have a path to fully retire in a little over a year so I can put up with things that I don't agree with. But everyone needs to do what is best for their lives

Did they allow you time to write up the proper documentation and procedures? Did they care? No? Then that is on them.

I felt that for a bit but it's gone now. I miss some people, but my mental health is much improved.

It's okay to feel some guilt. It shows you have empathy; it's something that is totally lacking in Frank's world. If the guilt persists, and it negatively affects your happiness seek some help. Enjoy your new job and try not to let the Orange place dampen your good fortune.

Inadequate staffing is a failure of management. Why would I feel guilty for something they chose to do?

Lol uh no. Don’t care about the team I left behind. It’s their own lazy stupid fault they are still there. I moved on to bigger and better things and only come back to this forum to remind myself how horrible it was and how leaving without even another job lined up was the best decision I could ever have made.

No guts no glory. Su-kers.

It’s a job not a family, and presumably nothing you did here was life or death. Maybe they hire another person, maybe someone quits, or maybe a clients leaves. It will all be ok.

but ngl, coming back to this board after you’ve left and gotten something better is weird and unhealthy. move on.

I initially felt the guilt. But I recognize that it's not my fault the company created a toxic work environment. I was always vocal in my encouragement for others to leave, even before I left. You can't make people look for a way out. So if want to stay well there isn't much you can do.

No guilt at all. They haven’t thought of you since you left either. It’s become call center you are nothing but a number mentality. Let it go!.

There would be no guilt feelings if they laid you off. Feel good about your move and enjoy the success
