Thread regarding CVS layoffs

So many good people gone

We lost half of our team. Several great people were lost. One of them is about to become a father for the third time. I am glad I still have a job but for some reason, I can't help but feel guilty. I know full well none of this is my fault but that doesn't help. It's just an all-around cr-ppy situation.

Its completely understandable to have survivors guilt when layoffs like this happen.

Not sure if you're aware, but almost every father at CVS is taking parental leave, which requires you to notify the company of a new dependent. If you want time off with your newborn, they know.

"My guess is that the best employees were paid accordingly, so they were on the chopping block."

Definitely not the case... there are a whole lot of people who, for whatever reason, make high end salaries with marginal work quality at best. Often the best people are not rewarded nearly as well as connected people at CVS.

My guess is that the best employees were paid accordingly, so they were on the chopping block.

The great employees that weren’t let go probably don’t get paid as much as they should.

Does anyone know how they came up with the people they let go? Seems like top performers were let go and a lot of those that don't go above and beyond remained with a position. Makes no sense.

Father you say, did he tell people in the office? Remember that pi---s people off. Especially when layoffs happen save money get rid of the old, the sick the ones who have or will have dependants. Really should never ever share too much with anyone in the office that's private start shooting your mouth off people notice.
