We had one community care RN notified she is laid off today. They had us watch a video of an AI not having a conversation with a human about health care benefits and codes of a member. It is a creepy video. I think their hope is to replace employees like the RN Case Managers with AI. The had a bot named ANNA that was supposed to be notifying utilization management of hospital discharges but it was always a week or more behind. You would think they would learn not toget rid of the human touch that cares in healthcare. They preach how “member centric” they are.. not anymore I guess.

AI is their total answer. Get it. So it's wrong. They see $$$$ in their pockets.
I agree that AI is their "once in a generation" tech change. I just saw a video of an AI calling someone who was looking at a Tesla car online, they called them to see if they had any additional questions. The AI was conversational. It was so creepy. But here we are, I could see them replacing customer service for benefit calls or claim status. Not saying it's right or that it will work, just that I've seen this in action amd it is a very real possibility. Wishing everyone the best and highest outcome from this.
It’s not fear Mo getting. It’s a fact. These people want AI to solve their employee costs and AI can be good for somethings but it was an EPIC fail in utilization management.
A1 makes mistakes a lot. Denies claims for ridiculous reasons all the time
This post is far from fear mongering. Original poster is very accurate. You dont realize because you're thinking about AI in the wrong way and also probably dont realize the different roles of nurses within this company and what we actually do. AI will be an epic failure - already is - they just dont realize it yet and dont know what to look for. We can see it plain as day how much it does not work, while appearing to be very quick and efficient. Everyone loses in the end. Employees, members, and the company. Wish they would wake up.
AI costs money to develop. Now Chat Bots can replace billing, customer service tomorrow.
Fear mongering post. Get outta here with that bull$h1t. AI is only able to do so much. Areas with the organization will still be with physical people
