Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Take a week to relax

As somebody who was laid off before, my advice is that you take a week off just to relax and recharge your batteries. I know your first instinct is to start looking for a new job right away, but your mental health needs a break. There are plenty of jobs. There will still be plenty of jobs in a week. You will do much better applying and interviewing if you had time to sort yourself out. That's just 2 cents from an old timer who's been through this before and both times landed on his feet.

Its good advice. I was laid off last year from another company and I took a few days to recover and then started applying.

Then sent out 5-6 applications a day. I landed at CVS but hopefully wont get hit this time.

I know its hard to relax but if you arent mentally healthy, you are no good to anyone.

I appreciate the sentiment and realize you’re likely right, but I have no idea how to relax when I have kids, a baby on the way, a new house and no income stability. Feels like I need to be submitting resumes every second of the day.

and even if you made it through, take a week off to relax. Get your stability and self confidence back. As people you deserve it. CVS is really nothing without good healthy workers. So, take a week off. Go through the motions, do the least to get by and save your thoughts for yourself.

Thank you for the advice. As one of the ones that was impacted I’m going to do just that!
