Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

Social Security Administration comment

I just got off the phone with SS regarding a claim for disability. I have serious physical issues that are well documented and am applying for disability just 8 month before I would be eligible without any disability for my benefits, but I know I should be approved and most folks I know said apply now. When we discussed my job with Capital One which was far more than the 15 years of work history they wanted to discuss, the case worker commented several times how TOXIC that workplace sounds. I was not trying to slam Capital One, but I was asked the questions and I answered honestly. I found it interesting that the caseworker who deals with this sort of thing full time made the assessment that Capital One is a toxic place to work. I had to share.

Capital One is super toxic, because the people who work there retain their jobs by playing politics. Capital One is a company where you go when your career dies.

Yes. Anxiety and depression are real symptoms especially like at Capone and Wells Fargo. Both companies have a lot in common.

A few years ago I sought help from a therapist for grief counseling after my husband passed away. When I told her where I worked. She said "ohhh I have had many clients from there. Going through personal tragedy and working in such a toxic environment is really difficult. "

I hope that you are aware that SSDI requires that you be classified by your doctor as fully disabled for 1 year prior to going on SSDI. If you live in a state that offers disability payments, you need to apply and receive them for 1 year. Prior to going on SSDI you will have a medical exam conducted by a doctor that reports to SS on your condition. Yes, SS makes you wait.
