Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Older employees

Once again I'm hearing about more older people getting hit. Am I wrong?

The breakdown of ages, races, genders, in percentages and real numbers of the ones laid off will be included in the termination papers, for your convenience, which makes trying to figure this out on your own kind of pointless. They always include that in the layoff paperwork

My team lost a young manager and we have two long-timers in their 50s.

This is absolutely false, I’m seeing impacts all across the board. All ages, genders, races, business lines, etc are getting laid off. I know it may be hard to accept but the reason you were laid off is most likely not because you were discriminated against. It’s a numbers game, they are looking at performance ratings, salary and tenure.

All tenured employees prior to CVS acquisition are toast.

It’s about time someone got rid of the boomers.

I've not seen this pattern. Pattern I'm seeing is slanted towards remote WFH people today.

So much for heart at work. What a bunch of cr-p they try to feed people.

I know a few director level and above folks who were impacted (which tend to be people with more years of experience - take that as you will).

However I know many junior colleagues at the analyst level with 1-2 years of work experience that were also impacted.

They are definitely targeting older workers. All you need to do is stay on top of the count of the people that they have let go so far today.

Youngest on the team here and got let go. The older/tenured ones stayed on from what I can gather. May be because my salary was higher as I am remote in a HCOL city?

Yes. They’re hitting the high earners.

I know 6 people under the age of 40 who were let go from digital design. All with 2 to 3 years here.

I think it is geared towards higher level positions which will skew older. Older workers should read up on the Older Workers Benefit Protectiobn Act
