Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Will I make it to next week

Will I make it to next week or will they be riding me and look at every minor little thing, look for a way to terminate me for “poor performance” and save themselves some cash. I just hope they lay off and let it be smooth these last two weeks

Being lazy at a company that treats you like garbage isn’t a bad thing that you have to defend. Who cares?

They let reps go with severance that were on written or final warnings when they first announced layoffs would be happening. If they tried to weasel there way out of giving severance for poor performance now they would be opening themselves up to massive litigation and discrimination. It is much cheaper for them to amicably agree to cut ties and pay severance.

I am really not lazy, I do work hard and I do show up, I try my best but I’m worried that they will try to find something minor and use it to terminate instead of paying

Consult the magic 8 ball. It will be about as accurate as the predictions here.

It’s highly unlikely you will be terminated for poor performance.

Here’s some ways to get them if you’re afraid of poor performance.

File a claim and say you’re experiencing mental stress because of work.

Call the compliance line and report your director, not your manager or dm.

Pretend you have Covid.

Any one of these things will work to buy you at least a month.
