Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Is this 5000 cut off applicable for FTE alone?

Why can't they find out and remove those who are working for multiple companies. There are many contractors who are moonlighting in the current market from 3-4 years.

By legal definition a company can not tell a contractor they can not work at another company unless it is in the contract and consideration is given.

When I was a contractor I worked for 2 companies and billed my time accordingly. It was not unethical or illegal and it was understood by all. If they wanted me solely they had to pay more.

With all that said I also had an expiration timeline (1 year) and they could choose to re-up my contract or not renew. If they chose to cancel it mid contract, they paid out the balance of the year anyways (assuming I didn't do anything that was in breach).

I could end the contract whenever with 1 months notice.

The hierarchy of layoffs should be consultants then contractors then FTE. Not the other way around. McKinsey though loves to keep themselves in business by promoting layoffs and then in 6 months pushing contractors to fix the issues from said mass layoffs.

Executives are too blind to see it as a repeating process.

Nope, this includes FTE and Contractors in non-customer facing positions. Many folks have gotten the notice today, and should be ongoing until complete.

Contractors are being let go too. They're being notified directly from their agencies.
