If Queen Karen and her Royal Court gave a dam, they would have at least taken voluntary taken a 20% pay reduction.

They would never do that. It would never cross their minds. They only way they'd ever think of taking a pay cut would be if they were the only employees left and there wasn't enough money to pay the full amount.

And honestly, if I was making $xx millions each year, I would be willing to take a substantial pay cut for the good of employees. Not only is it the right thing to do, but when you treat your employees right, they'll treat you right. That good will won't be quickly forgotten, and it could easily translate to better production and then eventually nice bonuses down the road.

As far as for employees buying stock and trying to change things that way... I don't think that's realistic. There's currently 1.28 billion shares. To have 50% of the vote then the average employee (based on 300,000) would need to have $160,000 in CVS Stock.

OP, be honest. Would you take a 20% pay cut so that families you don’t know could keep their homes? If you say yes, please know that you can donate 20% of your salary.

They would never do that. They never really meant employee welfare. reason for announcing this poorly planned layoffs is are their bottom line should be intact. So they are sacrificing the lower rungs. We work hard, company profits, we get crumbs, worthless heart at work points and they get millions. Poor buying choices are made by them, or markets are bad, they fire employees and still get millions. If they are fired they still get a golden parachute with millions. In such a situation they have absolutely no reason or motivation to look at people making lesser than them. Worst kind of leadership.

As an employee shareholder, I always vote no on executive comp.

@ycn+1o5exIjA Not entirely true. Remember that Employees are shareholders too. (At least those in the employee stock plan)) IF they banded together they might be able to get a measure for a vote on executive compensation, for next annual meeting.
