Layoffs 5000- The Facts

Each person is so in their own world. The facts are each Medicare Star is worth 1 billion dollars. I worked at a large health plan before who had a similar issue and the person in charge of the Medicare stars rating was fired. You can google the name of the person in responsible and he should resign along with his team and apologize for being responsible for the 5 K losing th jobs its on him. And what will be done to prevent this in the future the Loss of the Star was due to 80 customer surveys that Medicare performed

I do agree that it will be sent overseas, I just think call centers won’t be part of the job cuts this time until offshore is trained. Although, I’m tired of the mess and ready to go. I also believe there are big changes in store for PBM’s

H1b visa pharamacists are paid same rate as US rphs. Experience from rite aid. In IT they start a little lower but can move up to make just as much as us workers. The jobs being laid off are probably office jobs. It won't stop at CVS. In aneighborhood near me the majority is almost all work from home for big companies. These workers are walking dogs, and shopping during working hours. I can bet those jobs are next.

"Customer facing jobs: retail, minute clinic, pharmacists, phones(specialty, home delivery, customer care, pharmacists and pharmacy techs who take calls) should not be part of the layoff". Says who? Because you said so? Customer service, pharmacy can be replaced with A.I. now. Pharmacist can be replaced by non American Pharmacists just like dr-g companies do on live in Visas Glaxo Smith Klein, Teva etc bring in foreign workers who barely speak English at reduced wages because of health care, food and living accommodations supplied by the company. Get used to it across the board. Stores get ready for ballistic customers complaining about a foreign pharmacist or nurse in the minute clinic just being ignored and told to leave now or the police will remove them from the building for harassment of said foreign workers. Think I'm nuts huh, wait think I'm a troll nope I've seen it all before at other companies who when things get bad they get worse. I suggest you get a union going or your job isn't worth keeping for minimum wage to put up with abuse because of some foreign workers being brought in and don't care About the customers. Go look into H-1B Visas paid less to do US citizen jobs. They don't need anyone in the US including at store level. All can be outsourced out even in the stores. Other Pharmacies Walgreens does this regularly and pi---s it Customers off and in one ear out the other. Wall Street wants more for cheap so does the CEO and the know you cost too much at $7.25 on the bottom line the time is over and this across all business not just CVS, the ultra Rich CEOs don't care about this country it's a joke.

You know no customer facing jobs means "face to face" interaction not on the phones, computers. That's means anyone who the public can't see your face is 98% of the company. It's not just Aetna or CVS it all departments, divisions. 5000 doe not mean 5000 people can be a lot more a lot more. If they can send your job out of the country they will.

“The facts” are 5000 people will be laid off in the coming weeks in no customer facing positions

Some mangers know now who they are
The rest of us will know soon enough

Everything else being said here is speculation and rumor from legitimately scared people

Agreed. Aetna deserves to take the brunt of these cuts given continued issues providing decent service to maintain an acceptable STARS rating.
