Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Discrimination layoff

If anyone gets laid off and thinks they were chosen based off of legitimate discrimination, do not sign the severance agreement. Speak with an attorney first. If you sign the severance then you sign away your rights to sue due to discrimination.

When you get your severance papers in your email, there's a section that has the totals eliminated by race, s-x, and age, They cover their legal basis really well

If CVS corporate employees were predominantly white and male before the layoff, white male employees were statistically paid more, and decisions were made based on cutting the highest salaries, that is not discrimination against white men. That's correcting discrimination.

If you feel that your manager hand picked you due to any past issues regarding discrimination, or if you feel it’s out of retaliation from reporting issues, or if you do not receive the 60 legally required by WARN Act (must be a written and specific notice to the individual giving them at least 60 days prior notice) all of things would be a legitimate reason to contact an attorney before signing anything.

Someone was theorizing the other day that there may be a smaller percent of white males after the layoffs end. I think that would be the type of discrimination that leaders are aiming for. Just understand that no lawyer will take that as a case, so it makes it an easy option for CVS to pursue.
