I heard that during last year’s mass layoff, they gave a notice period of 2 months from the date they informed everyone. Can we expect the same for this year too? Will they pay severance if the notice period is for 2 months?

Now is a good time to take screen shots of your mytime, download your performance reviews, exchange personal contact information with trusted colleagues who may be a good reference and save it all to your personal accounts.
Can't hurt!
I can’t help but ponder how it’s good for the company to have 5000 people work, have access to files and data, while knowing they are out. Seems like a huge risk
For Coram last summer, layoffs June 1, last day august 28th, Brutal summer, you just think this not knowing is hard. Working three months knowing you have been laid off, just to transfer all your work to people not laid off, nothing harder
At Omnicare when we had layoffs, nobody ever stayed for more than 2 weeks, at least in my area. One time, I think it might have been 3 weeks to let the laid off workers stay until the end of the month. It's different for each unit.
People who did not work until the date they were given because they got another job that needed them to start before their last day at cvs, were considered to have resigned and did not get their severance. You have to work to the date they give you , and to do that with a smile on your face, to get severance.
2-3 months notice You had to continue doing your job during that time and make a transition plan for whoever was going to be taking over your duties, or your work for when you were gone As long as you didn't cause any trouble during that time, and you signed your severance agreement by the deadline, your severance started the first day you were no longer working for the company.
