Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Stress and frustration

Is there ever going to be a time when working here is going to be less stressful and less frustrating?

Once you have responsibilities in life work will always be stressful and frustrating and it just gets worse forever.

Ted says no. Others say, only if there are major changes. telco rifs are a constant since at least 2002. what would change? maybe vz moving into an entirely new industry. wait. that would take initiative.

Make sure to do your pulse survey! Your feedback is a gift! Just don’t say anything to the “Employee Engagement rep” or you’re canned.

Working here? Nope. But a lot of people, including myself will be a lot less stressed come August 27th!

Yes - things will get better, but it will take about a year and a half. We start being able to use all of our Network bandwidth in December. Let's say it takes us 6 months to get that fully deployed and optimized. We will be back to Network leadership at that point and word of mouth will start to get out. Moreover that will generate more fixed wireless (internet at home) sales and customer stickiness.
Similarly the recent RE-org is going to cause some upheavel, but it should start yielding benefits in a year or so.
Lastly, I expect the BOD will have selected Han's successor by then.

Big companies like VZ don't tend to stay down, they have the resources to fight the ship. There is a whole investing theory based on this idea called Dogs of the Dow which has proven to be surprisingly correct.

Yes, it can like many other companies have in the past by “FIRING” their good for nothing & useless CEOs. Same could be easily done here, not sure what’s taking so long. We’ve all seen it from 2018 to 2023. We’ve seen people jump ships, we’ve seen people preparing & jumping with their Golden Parachute, we’ve seen terrible decision making, and we’ve seen how once a number 1 company in Telecom drastically going down to bottom. What else is there left to be spoken? Hans needs to GO!!!

Those few days during the sweet release of a rif I hear is the best time for some while finally giving notice is good for others.

Working at VZ is much like the saying about the two best days in a boat owners life.

No matter how you slice it, it’s a commission based sales job — either making or saving the numbers/dollars — what else would you expect.
