Based on a conversation with my manager, my role is no longer needed in my group due to some changes. I saw it coming and have been preparing. I have only been at HPE for a year. Will I just receive 2 weeks severance?

WFR may occur sooner than anyone thinks. Prepare for worst now. Accidentally introduce exploitable vulnerabilities if you write code. Accidentally release details on dark web if you are subject to WFR. Follow OpSec every step of way.
Search the portal for WFR all the docs are out there, how calculated, when paid out, etc. It appears they were all modified 6/30 if that says anything to the masses. Usually a fresh document refresh means notices are coming.
If things are like they were for me you'll get 11 weeks. Not too bad for 1 year there. My question is how were you hired for a job that was needed for only a year? That's a sign of a poorly run company but we already know that...
You will be lucky to receive any severance. Don't count on it.
