Someone mentioned it in one of the posts below and so now I'm wondering what percentage of all promotions that happen are actually without increases. Any guesses? My friend left not long after he was promoted precisely because he was only given more responsibility and nothing more.

Only way to get a decent raise is to find another job and give notice...
I went from senior to lead and got 8%. Mostly because they had me marked as "at risk" to leave. Which I did.
next wave of raises will be next year march/april...
Has anyone gotten a promotion this year? What was your raise %?
The flat raises will match the flat stock price. Very nice.
If you invest in FI the stock profits will augment your compensation nicely
We love dry promotions here!!!
When will we have to pay for our (work) laptops??
I got promoted from associate to senior associate with 3% pay rise still lower than inflation but not that bad, next year I got merrit increase 3,xx% with sky high inflation. As far as I know your manager will get limited budget to give his people. The high pay increase that you would receive would be redistributed from other people... After hearing that I decided no thanks I rather go elsewhere with abandoning unvested frankserv stocks... In the end I got 40% increase in other company.
A few years back, myself and a few others got bumped from SE2 to SE3, without any type of notification / discussion / anything for that matter.
FI tried to do this with me saying things are tight and we'll get you a pay bump at the end of the year. Several other people turned it down as well. The person that accepted felt forced to do so, feeling they would be let go. That person never received a pay increase for that position.
