Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Toxic boss, s-xist remarks causing high levels of stress and depression

Has anyone reported their boss to HR at State Farm? I am afraid of retaliation and can't leave my job to apply internally as I have 8 months left in incumbency period. I would prefer to stay with State Farm, find another job within, but not sure how to leave this toxic environment and not burn bridges. There's a lot of nepotism and boss can ruin me. Everyone online says "don't trust HR," I don't know where to get help.

If it's truly legit. Report it to HR. There are laws against retaliation. They can't just fire you because you spoke up about being harassed or a hostile work environment.

What is the compliance and ethics hotline phone number and web address so you can report it from a non-work computer?

Wait. So they were trying to prevent an employee working off the clock and not getting paid for it. They would fire the leadership person for encouraging and make sure, the employee got back, pay for, time, worked. And your response,is,don’t trust them? You are one twisted f up dude.

They absolutely will attempt retaliation. A coworker filed an “anonymous “ complaint to HR (using his home computer) couple of years ago about being “encouraged” to work off the clock. They had IT trying to find the IP address of his home internet by running sniffer programs. He was using a VPN so it still identified his city but didn’t identify him. It was brought up in a weekly huddle the next week that someone in that city had filed a complaint and that failure to report time worked was a violation of the code of conduct. Don’t ever, ever trust the bast___s.

Assuming you're not a snowflake and the concern is real take it up with HR. Yes HR isn't there to protect you. HR exists to protect the company. In this case they want to protect the company from a lawsuit from you. I'm sure they'll be amicable given they don't want you to sue the company. Keep that in mind when reporting anything.

Don't listen to the fear monger. Report it so it can be dealt with. That behavior is not tolerated, nor is retaliation. If your TM retaliates, report again and THEY will most likely be fired. I've had to report similar instances and it was dealt with quickly and I faced no retaliation and continue to succeed and advance my career.

dont trust anyone , not even co workers
best outcome is for you to find another job and just leave with dignity, you can bet if you report to HR it may "resolve" things but you will be on a list and as things calm down they will find excuses totally unrelated to this incident to write you up and then terminate you.
