I'm genuinely curious if there's anyone with any positives to say about the role changes? I'm mainly talking to people who iare/were in stores

If you are a senior employee still working for Follett you know very well there’s no positives. The new people don’t understand the time it takes to complete tasks/ help out customers. They want team members to focus on sales, but neglect proper training (you can’t sell something is you have zero knowledge about the product or what it does). They want inventory to be up to standard, but neglect to have the right amount of people to receive and restock the sales floor, specially in big stores. Fall rush is going to be a complete mess. No one is going to care and the few who do will go insane and leave. It’s a nightmare to work for Follett anymore. I am already looking for other opportunities.
Not sure how one store managed to have all staff stay with promotions and pay increase. This sounds fishy. And if true, I would wonder why? Were there really were no other qualified candidates in the region? All the talent was in one location?
Most store lost the only 2 FT staff. ASM positions were eliminated to be filled with 2 PT Lead positions. Managers were demoted with 20% to 40% pay cuts and would be expected to do same job, less CM (like that would really happen. There are too many tasks in CM that cannot be performed remotely. Promotions were handed out by who you knew vs. What you knew. Experience or seniority did not matter. Higher paid senior staff were weeded out and benefits reduced the cut costs. Many talented people where lost. For those who remain...August and sept. Are going to be brutal
Everyone around me, including myself got a promotion along with a pay raise. We hired more team members and team leads. I am a CSM and I work my full 10 hours day right now. People who have sh---y managers, have to make up for them and that sucks but it can be better. This was a great change for me.
According to my old team lead, nothing has changed. More work has been placed on her shoulders... the SM still comes in late and leaves early (never actually works an 8 hour shift.) She has been scheduled on the register for most of her shift but is also being tasked with sending walk in adoptions to the CMM and doing soda orders. I don't know how these id--ts expect her to do anything when that store is huge so doing anything text related means she has to be at the back of the store... it's literally impossible and the team lead doing shipping and receiving (who's desk is right next to text) is useless. I walked past the store and it looks a mess. This is what they wanted... this is what they got. Mediocrity.
My old store is overloaded with orientations, receiving, and adoption/ordering issues. The restructure has yet to be successful. The team is one manager, no temps, and no work studies.
