Great way to add politics to this already messed up situation. Guess what the “woke” teammates think it’s BS too. Nothing about this merger has been “equal” so let’s start with that. Calling this a merger of equals was just the wrong approach. Kelly was being too nice. We should have just taken them over (SunTrust) but now the wool was pulled over Kelly’s eyes and Bill and his sycophants have taken over. They are now going to run Truist into the ground like they did SunTrust so go ahead and get ready for another merger bc we will be US Bank in the next few years

I'll do whatever it takes to become a Banking Officer, too! (And then I'll let it go to my head.)

"I'll do whatever it takes to become an Assistant Vice President."

LOL! Back in the early 2000's, BB&T was passing out AVP promotions like candy. It was insane. Everyone (even d-mb ol' me) was an AVP!

It’s sad. Yea, Kelly was telling everyone to count paperclips and those silly bu-terfly stories that made your eyes roll but you felt like they were going to throwus a few crumbs and keep the pension going. Now, it’s a crapshoot. The only thing that ever came out of this was blimpy Brant went away.

Starnes and Weaver are BBT remaining original E14 members. Starnes was named co vice chair along side Bill’s boy Beau last year. A move made to appease someone but who knows whom. Diversity promotions of Wright and Dontae were made to Executive group both former BBT executives. None are thought to have any real influence. Starnes and Weaver in particular sat back and watched all their former BBT colleagues get sold down the river while lining their pockets. They have no respect anymore and don’t deserve any. They will ride into the sunset in 24 while more Suntrust people are put in place or be terminated like Bible. Make no mistake the ole country preacher sold an entire company out for his legacy. I’m sure his church is happy with the money he gives and sycophants still adore him.

2008 was BB&T and it was a strong, conservative bank.... was being the key word. Once the merger happened with Sunburst it has all been down hill since. I think there is only one remaining BB&T person on the Executive Management team ( he may be gone now IDK). This is why you see a lot of post referring to it as SunTruist now. In my opinion Kelly King sold BB&T out for his Golden Parachute, however just my option and really at this point don't even care. I moved all of my accounts right after the merger was announced because I felt like a dumpster fire (as many have described it) was coming.

How can BB&T go from one of the strongest banks in 2008 financial crisis to this. Is it the current management? What is up with Blueberry nonsense. Am I missing something?
