Thread regarding Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. layoffs

Department meeting today titled “External Communications & Social Media”…

They heard about the helpful layoff thread on the clinical research subreddit yesterday, which has since been deleted. An employee actually posted 4 pics of yesterday’s company email talking about the layoffs/“restructure” on that post, but it was also deleted almost as soon as it was posted. Cannot wait to hear what they say in this meeting. Whole department including managers are invited.

I lost my job and was told reduction in work force. Didn’t see a warn notice that this would happen. There are multiple departments laying off and it is all hush hush. I knew about some layoffs only after seeing post on LinkedIn. Look up Thermo layoffs in alachua Florida or San Diego ca. when they are asked for more information they just say restructuring. They are developing power automate processes which allow them to cut additional jobs. I heard they are now moving finance to Bulgaria to have it centralized. Lots going on and not sharing info. I feel sorry for those still there and waiting for the shoe to drop

As someone who was with PPD before we were acquired and turned into nothing more than a business unit, I would like to thank TMO leadership for ruining the great momentum we had, our positive company culture, and the trust we had in our leadership. We didn’t need them…they needed us. The lack of transparency and communication from TMO upper management has been shameful.

I hate this company so much. Hope no one else has the displeasure of working for them.

Whilst everyone is getting mad about these layoffs, let’s remind ourselves of the fat pay cheques C-Suite have received in the 2022:

Marc Casper total comp $28 million
Stephen Williamson total comp $6.8 million
Michael Lagarde total comp $8 million
Gianluca Pettiti total comp $5.7 million
Michael Boxer total comp $3.1 million

This is all public information from the 2023 proxy statement to SEC.

They are cutting the workers who make them the profits while sitting comfortably on millions of dollars. Pure corporate greed. This company is evil.

The comms team plan is to say nothing, so keep on saying and posting things here, reddit, Twitter. Let’s make some fires for them!

I was posting on that reddit thread and got worried when the original poster deleted. They probably just got spooked as don’t think there is a way to track. Anyone want to start new one!

got a question about reddit from my LM too - she did not care about the info being shared though, not upset at all

the best thing would be if they were to send a memo saying 'dont use reddit and thelayoff.com' - that would ensure that we quadruple the audience here and on reddit - honestly, they are so detached from the reality, they have no clue what the worker thinks or feels - they sit on their thrones and look at us from above, they have no clue how hard it is (or how fun it is) to be a peon in this game. whatever...

My LM asked me about the Reddit post too. That long juicy one ended up getting deleted, but when I checked this morning, an employee straight up posted pics of that email sent out yesterday. Dude was big mad…but then he deleted his posts too. Despite that annoying a-s meeting today, I still think our department is gonna have layoffs by the end of this year at the latest.

Meeting was stupid. They noted the Reddit post. Tried to say my department isn’t going anywhere aka some of y’all still getting let go but we ain’t saying when smh. Love how they said not to believe what’s being posted. Why not? Majority of the stuff I’ve found on the subreddit and this website have all been true soooo….

Lol what are they going to do? I mean there are a lot of people utilizing social media to find their next role. Not sure what they’re expecting.
