Sanford Heisler Sharp is investigating labor practices at Nike.

Just saw this ad on facebook:
Sanford Heisler Sharp is investigating labor practices at Nike. We want to speak with current and former workers who have been classified as independent contractors, temporary workers, freelancers, employees of outside staffing agencies, or project-based workers.
The investigation aims to determine if these workers have been misclassified and are owed compensation or benefits.

They jumped on the article in the Guardian and are now playing ambulance chasers. It's id--tic, frankly. Everybody is out to make a buck off an article that includes statements from Nike's former disgruntled vendor who lost the business vetting ICs. The firm isn't investigating anything.

They’re not going to find much because every department handled contractors differently.

They might end up with a dozen usable cases if they’re able to audit everything but this isn’t going to be the payday they’re hoping for.

In the meantime management is going to be forced to increasingly be hardasses to their contractors. “Sorry mate, can’t go to the popup.” “Sorry mate, only FTE get this team meal comped” “Sorry mate, can’t do summer hours even if you’ve worked 9-hour days Mon-Thrs. Sit in the dark with the other contractors.”
