@1oko+1nfCyzxa How about not buying bad quality Fords (and regretting it later)? How about protesting all of the jobs leaving NA that has been their biggest market? They give us the shaft and you think you should be loyal...WHY?
2kxe There is a plan in the works to outsource several teams in Enterprise Technology third quarter. It’s a B, death by a thousand cuts and outsourcing. There is a four year cut plan. In the end the US work force is a shadow of its former self.

@1lrw+1nfCyzxa Unions are not the answer. Your ability to see through the corporate B-S and make a future for yourself and your family regardless of what happens at Ford is the key to your success. Wanting to unionize just admits failure, a doctrine liberals embrace. Don't be that person.

Exactly. Ford rounds down and not up when calculating severance. I had 9 years and 51 weeks total time at Ford when Ford let me go last August. Ford saved money by giving me three months of severance instead of four months.
So, as soon as the govt gives them 9.2B they announce layoffs. Seems to me they were in desperate need of cash and will use that money for severance packages. profitability will look good since they no longer have salaried cost and the 9.2b will be a “forgiven loan” down the road.

Ford salaried employees need a union so badly.
I would personally rather pay union dues than wonder if I’m going to have to refinance my mortgage every 6 months when the next round of layoffs is announced. I know there’s a lot of anti-union sentiment among the salaried workforce at ford which is a pity. Imagine being in a union that could negotiate a moratorium on outsourcing, etc. It seems like the only way to have job security at Ford at this point.
@1eyj - just all over the news. That’s how Ford announces things - leaked through the press. You can’t trust Farley with his “no layoffs”.
The disgruntled LL4 won't give details due to the NDA. So he speaks about all this is vagueness. But he has been clear that it has been coming, pretty much since last August.
I've done my best to warn people here with the limited info I have.

I believe it's also referred to as SISP also. Can't seem to find the brochure when checking this last night at Life@Ford which details how severance is determined. One thing I did notice is they round down your years in service meaning, let's say you worked for 5 years and 10 months, you will only get severance for 5 years.

Can you get more details from your disgruntled LL4? Such as exact timing for notifications, if CDSIDs will be disabled immediately, what criteria is being used for those that get cut, etc?
Such an underhanded way of doing things. Pass it on to the media and then act like it's a surprise. The Ford way of making employees sweat and feel uncomfortable. Glad I was SIRP'ed, life is not so stressful worrying about getting canned every month despite being a good employee. It also gave me a different perspective on life, you work to live, not live to work. Always do what is best for your family and career. These companies will dispose of employees like garbage.
Thoughts and prayers for the regular poster here who actually expects that we'll hear of the layoffs from our leadership in the town halls. It always leaks in the media first. Always.
I've been telling to all in this forum that this was coming for months. My source is a disgruntled LL4, so I've been in the know all along.

Used to be such a great company to work for up to 20 years ago. right around when they started with Ford 2000. It’s a shame and heartbreaking to see what they did to it. They used to treat you like family, and now they treat you as an enemy.(people are our greatest asset. What people are they talking about?)
Even if I get fired I will still buy a Ford. But that is just me.
I have been at Ford for many years and will not stop buying Ford because of the current managements poor decision.
November exiter here. Good luck all. Power train had engineers in Mexico and Brazil leading North America deep engine issues. Not a good approach in my mind. Problem solving needs hands on approach. This will not end well.
To all those who get sacked, go to buy a Toyota or a Honda and dump your Fords and Lincolns. Take your pension as a lump sum, roll that and the SSIP into an IRA or other investment instrument. Distance yourself from this trainwreck of a company that treats you like trash. Treat them like the trash they are and hit them in the pocket book. Left in November best decision I ever made. Soon all that’s going to be left is the clueless and useless friends and family that are protected. Problem is no accountability for the fat cats. They are destroying the company and getting rewarded for it and they walk away with no consequences. We’ll see how gravy train works out for them when they get rid of all the people that make their gravy trains possible. Doesn’t BF see what’s going on????

No way it's going to be voluntary.
Do the math to understand the timing. The group that got cut last August basically got paid thru the equivalent of May. When there is any package, there is a mandatory 45 day period to sign to get your money (involuntary or change your mind (voluntary). That gets you to Labor Day when the UAW contract expires.

Our leadership sucks! They're going to do what they want with layoffs, but they could at least let us know rather than leak it to the media again! No integrity, company is going down the drain!
My opinion is that next week they will announce the layoff strategy, which will be voluntary separation. Similar to how GM did. This way Ford can see who is opting to leave and if the people they want out are voluntarily leaving then they will approve their separation.
Either way well the hard working old white folk is gonna get hosed one way or another
The best area to start with needed layoffs would be FLV and his entire organization. They wasted $10 Billion in the last four years with nothing to show for it but “canopy “ which will never be profitable. Their subscription revenue doesn’t even cover “CEO” Moran’s million dollar salary.

Always the same playbook. The layoffs always precede the impending economic fallout. Nearly time to start shorting the market again, just like it was Jan 2022. Only this time, it will exceed the fall from grace moves of 2008, and 2001.
