Just wanted to comment here that it looks like Sr. Leadership is going to put the burden of declining all the exceptions on team managers. Been told not allowed to "approve" any exceptions above the 18% to go onto the next level and that if you have a fractional you have to round down. So a team of 10, you get 1.8 exceptions which = 1. Keep in mind that your team manager is being made to decline these for fear of being reprimanded by their MDs. The MDs and HR will say "well your manager declined it". The FU-K WE DID!! They're making us. Fu----g cowards.

Based on latest discussions at EC level, this is the start of a drastic HC initiative. Longer term is to consolidate to two campus locations, Texas and Phoenix. This will take a while but this is end state goal.
Can anyone verify the relocation package with their directors?
I heard today from my MD that people that were hired on to schwab as fully remote AND live over 2 hours away have the first exemption, then medical, then people who moved. After the 6 mo review they want to have the "talk" about a reloc package or leaving the position.
Wow that’s depressing. I wouldn’t have joined if I had even a clue that our directors would let this happen. RTO is fine- just be reasonable with it
Our director came into our huddle today and said no exceptions and don’t even bother unless hundreds of miles away. Suggested file medical and even that might take significant time to get clarity on. I was embarrassed watching him talk about it so dismissively. He took up pretty much full huddle and only had time to answer one question that made it clear he didn’t support the decision either, but told us how sometimes you just have to “suck it up”. Very inspirational.
40% of my team was hired on with full-time telecommute agreements. I have others who live over 3 hours from the nearest office, and one over 7 hours. I can't deny these exceptions in good faith as they fit the mandate guidelines. Let the MD's or whoever else do their jobs of declining folks who clearly fall within the exception requirements.
Ethics my a-s.
My teams individuals were told to hold off submitting their exceptions. I didn't get that memo but it's pretty clear this is gonna go nowhere.
Our MD instructed our managers not to touch them so that they could document the numbers and report them back to the EC to begin the conversation. I do fear that we are just screwed no matter what we do because some of us are actively moving right now and one or two of my other colleagues bought a home in a different city.
RTO isn’t the answer but if they’re this obsessed, then they should at a minimum have more offices.
