Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Reason for increased pressure on OCI Sales Reps?

Reps now have to make cold calls/prospect etc. Why is the heat turning up all of a sudden?

SC expressed importance of their strong relationships with customers.
Guess they are putting pressure on them to find new customers.
Existing customers are angry, stuck in subscriptions for software that they havne't used in years.

Because sales is a what have you done for me lately business and that’s what happens every quarter. Despite the small success for OCI they’re still a massively inflated sales organization compared to other product lines and continually get beat by orgs that are a third of the size with a fraction of the resources.

With all the celebration around the results, the analyst have not focused on the 11% drop in net profit year over year

The first rule of any financial report, contract, etc is to READ THE FINE PRINT. The real details are always at the bottom. Assuming, that is, the document in question is on the square. Just saw a YouTube presentation on Crazy Eddie and O immediately came to mind.

They are being measured and metrics to see which ones can be laid off.

Oracle is a huge game of musical chairs.

They haven’t hired a new class of BDC’s in almost a year so that might have something to do with it.

With all the celebration around the results, the analyst have not focused on the 11% drop in net profit year over year. Perhaps the realization that it can not continue might have added to the pressure.

Me(The OP) am not a sales rep myself, I have just noticed the increased pressure on the reps.
