I know I'm just one small story here to add, but I figured I'd share anyway. I got hit by the tech layoffs last year, and I came aboard early this year. Started to see this as a company I could be at long term, with several different growth opportunities and a badass team.
Then this news hit. My family is in the middle of a move out of state, nowhere near a Schwab office, but I figured we'd be completely fine since I was fully remote.
Now I may need to jump right back into the job hunt again for the second time in a year. I'm really, really tired of companies treating its people like expendable little workhorses and making so many promises, then breaking them in a moment's notice and acting all confused when we get pi---d as he-l. The job I was let go from last year swore up and down that I and my team were untouchable, then let us all go anyway when profits took a dive while still hiring sales people like crazy.
Rant over. Hope we can make our voices loud enough to get leaders to consider walking this back. We're all just trying to live our lives here, da---t.
