Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

Remote associates are next

Leadership isn’t satisfied with the return to office numbers. The next step will be to request remote associates to relocate near a people center. This will be an in effort to drive voluntary resignations over layoffs and severances.

C1 has significant investments in corp real estate. They can't offset the cost. I hear WPS is not able to find LOBs to bill anymore since most are remote work. The truth is major LOBs will never be RTO. Now it's a numbers game, reduce head count, shift cost. Execs are tasked with blanket layoffs.

They are taking requests for remote worker status right now. It is a very scrutinized process. Maybe a good thing or a bad thing if they use it for more layoffs. Hearing the difference between the two will be targeted for layoffs. If you’re identified as in office go into office, otherwise you will be laid off.

Prior to Covid, C1 was not very open to full remote work. I don't blame them. With return to office there are too many people hired that don't work out of hubs. They need to figure that out. Either move or get fired.

No surprise. This company is the biggest virtue signaling pos. Every communication is about how much we love you, how much we value you. Just a bunch of words to make them think they have such a great organization. It is a very, very sick company. Good luck to everybody, especially the lucky ones who get a subsidized ticket to a better career and life!
