Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Toxic work environment at Verizon:

The work environment and culture has become so toxic at Verizon. Sometime just one person will ruin an entire group and start to play nasty games and spread toxicity. The bad part is that they have their management's support. It drives you nuts and even if you are doing your 110% best your efforts are not apperciated. You are absolutely correct it will cause mental health issues and EVEN if you leave this job or are laid YOUR MNETAL HEALTH ISSUES will linger with you and it will take months to untangle any mental health issues/notts. Definitely find another job. You are correct in that it is not healthy. Verizon is very toxic and unless you’re someone that is able to tolerate this type of work environment it’s best to move on even if it means a temporary pay cut.

I used to be in a group with a person like that - she'd say one thing to one person and wait for a reaction. Then talk to someone else about the original person's reaction. The game went on and on. Caught her telling me about someone I knew really well and asked that person about the convo...
Best thing to do, I stopped interacting with the trouble maker.
And dusted her up the ranks in the company.

it has been a clown show since 2.0 became (2.0). No one serious left in management that understands the business. Close down BR and run the company out of Texas or Florida.

Decrease effort and hours. You know they don’t care. If you aren’t on a fast track no need to try to be in the top 10% maybe target not being in bottom 50%.

Use some normal work time to train which you should do to keep up skills for vz but it’ll be for the day you aren’t in VZ.

There is an almost 0,01% turnover rate. You are overpaid for your skill set at Verizon by roughly 30% in the market. You would be doing more and being paid less at almost any other job you could get. Until people start leaving en mass nothing is going to change

If you view it as a thankless job and it is causing you mental health issues and your environment is toxic, you do 110% and it is not appreciated, I mean this in all sincerity, you need to find a other job in a different company, why are you staying here?
