Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

This is completely unfair

We are all hitting new levels of anxiety over this whole thing and those who are doing all of this to us can just go on with their days like nothing's happening. They don't give a damn and none of this will affect them, at least not in the negative. How is that fair?

The anxiety and dread I feel every single day is significantly worse than the day this was posted.

It’s been 19 days since this post, things have only gotten worse. Employees have morale completely eliminated. My anxiety is at record levels. No communication from upper mgmt. and where is EC, this company is in free fall. Acquiring TD has done nothing to benefit schwabs bottom line, what was the purpose? It has hurt so many green and blue employees. We had a great company once, great mgmt Mostly, now nothing but secrets and lies.

@vje+1nTHYSlB. You are absolutely RIGHT - the longer they drag out all the bullsh-t the more money everyone makes and the less that gets done - they are so STUPID - complete mo--ns!

Best advice I have is to "steal" as much company time as possible. Take longer lunches, do the bare minimum to get by, etc. And use up some sick time while you still can! Take a mental health day and don't pay any attention to anyone who tells you to just "focus on work" right now. That is the last thing any of us should be doing while we await our fate...fu-k work.

Best advice I have for you all is just keep your head down, focus on work, and drown out the noise. Practice the fine art of detachment. If it happens it happens. Nothing you can do about it. Not in your control. Know that. Realize it. Focus only on things that are under your control. This helps me to control anxiety. Good luck all.

If it’s any consolation apparently EC will get cuts too. Not that it matters much since they have golden parachutes packed and ready.

Same here, trust was lost, can’t work for people who think they can get away with behaving like this with no repercussions

Even if I survive the layoffs, I won't be staying. This kind of leadership speaks volumes.

Shares up 13% since layoffs announced. Nothing else matters.

Keep on truckin - what’s with the negativity? How about utilizing your sick time for a mental health day or several days?

Your manager will be supportive or you can also let him/her know these feelings and then you will feel better.

You are right - totally unfair and cruel. When they announced layoffs they could have also announced the date, which wouldn't change anything really but would have set to define the situation a little better. The EC and upper management at Schwab are complete tools - and their behavior speaks about the firm.
