We know there is a “Total Rewards” survey coming next month. This means benefits are at risk. After all, when you take away peoples benefits, it reduces cost. What benefits will be on the chopping block this round? 401k match reduction? AIP eliminated? PTO reduced? What about maternity and caregiver leave? Increase in health, dental and vision benefits? Another STD and LTD reduction? Will Humana Inc. reduce their benefits to same level as Centerwell’s which are considerably worse than the insurance side? I’m not sure about you all but benefits are a big reason I don’t leave.

The email has arrived, my voice is 'needed', yipee!...an opportunity to be 'heard', the Total Rewards Survey. I am procrastinating, it's like pulling the plug out of the grenade. Something will definitely 'blow up' leaving you disillusioned, 'what just happened?!!' You'll ask yourself, 'should I have answered that question differently? They MUST have 'heard' me wrong!!' I have been here long enough, it doesn't matter how you answer, Humana powers that be are strategic in deciding what to take away. And they gift it as 'we heard you' and we are updating your benefits.👏 So what they are taking away is presented as your suggestion! They highlight an area they are 'giving' in and conveniently 'skip' the communication where they are cutting. You have to open the links and read it yourself because you will never hear about it. It is very convenient the 'Emergency Savings Program' was implemented the same week the Survey email was sent. I am not saying this is not a great benefit, because it is.....but it's a mask (or a smoke screen) to distract employees from what is coming. The timing is impeccable (my opinion). And before you critique me on this, please just wait to see what the outcome of the survey is first. Oh, I forgot to mention the anniversary rewards for those milestone anniversaries were cut a couple of years ago. Anyone recall the 'Benefits Refresh' from last year? The max PTO bank was reduced, STD/LTD reimbursement % was reduced. I am going to 'fight' (in the survey) for my PTO, 401k match and AIP as this is the only benefit left that is a monetary supplement to the below market salaries. To be fair, the newly introduced Emergency Savings Plan is a nice addition. Go365 is going away at the end of the year, so no more perks there. I am thinking the Biometric screening/Health assessment earnings will be no more in the future. At the end of the day, I am grateful I am still employed after I have witnessed associates in my department get RIF'd and whole departments completely eliminated. Please think long and hard before you answer those questions in the survey about the benefits that are most important to you. You'll see they are ALL VERY important. Leadership is looking closely at how we rank the benefits, and rest assured, there will be consequences for all of us. And these consequences will be our fault because they 'heard' us. 🤨
So are the benefits getting cut or what? I don’t think most people know humana insurance gets better benefits than Centerwell clinics?
If you don't know about those tips, then you know now not specific to Humana employees but this layoff tracker site does use frequent layoff companies, such as Humana as an example to demonstrate their tips. Typical and larger layoff round usually happened in November, because it would be tough for employees laid off to find a new job during that period. After that period, the 60-day transition period would be smoothly done, and then the laid off people would be useless to Humana in past decade.
