Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Q2 replay

Wow. I just heard the replay while getting ready for my day and I don't know how to feel about my CEO calling return to work a spoiled mentality. On top of that the willingness to have a constructive debate on. I understand that the pandemic forced his hand and 5 days return to work is coming. But to have such a tone deaf response is so on brand for today's CEO.

I'm convinced the only people who want employees in the office are those who own commercial real estate. Any ideas what investment company owns BH or the new WI location and whose benefitting on that end? Not to start conspiracy theories but I wouldn't put it past them at this point

I'm waiting for Frank to realize the commute to the office reduces our workday by two to 3 hiurs a day. If yiu want to run with limited headcount yiu have to get more bouts in on yiur job. The commute to the office cuts into my workday

I do wonder if it’s to help support small and medium sized banks as they own a huge stake in the office market. It has got to be something greater than tax incentives and Frankie’s wack *ss 1980’s mentality.

Leave it to crusty old white dudes to be unable to look beyond their insane levels of greed. Of all the corporate platitude emails they send, you would think this company would actually care about the physical and mental health of employees by not making them do something for hours each day unnecessarily. Also what about the environment? We need to destroy that too for perceived greater shareholder value?

Fiserv spent 10+ years prior to Frankie Bolognese flattening offices and telling people to WFH to cut overhead. Say what you want about Yabuki, and he wasn't perfect by any means, but at least this model made sense.

Now all those folks who were remote for years and years are being told to relocate. Lofl. The company is dumping tons of money into physical sites. Double Lofl. If it weren't so stupid, it would be funny. Frank is over here telling the world that a square wheel will work better for transportation. 😂

They postponed the employee survey until the RTO announcement was made so they could pin the poor results on that single item.

Remember when they closed our office and said we could work from home and then made us test our internet and in some cases pay more for internet to meet some "minimum requirements" someone came up with. Then they stopped reimbursing for our internet and now we have to move to the sh!t pit BH to keep our jobs.

It was the Beaverton office in Oregon... they renege on alot of things!

Remember when they said that they would examine each role to make sense whether they needed to be in office

Remember when for months they said they wouldn't force anyone to get a vaccine - that it was a personal choice

Remember that time that Fiserv closed an office an told the employees not to worry, that they could work from home instead? But then Fiserv reneged on what Fiserv said, proving conclusively that Fiserv cannot be trusted.

Where was that again? Was it in Oregon, or Texas, or Florida? Or was it in Georgia, or California? Or was it Ohio?

I can't remember now...

I think we just have a better work ethic on the east coast. We put in the time, we come to the office. It’s called dedication

@kts+1nPsuCIW agreed! I've been working from home for many years, so it has nothing to do with being "spoiled" by COVID. He-l, they closed many offices long before COVID and told people to work from home...why was THAT ok, but now it's not?

The remote work schedule existed long before Fiserv acquired other companies - back to the 90's. It worked long before Fiserv. Trying to make RTO the primary issue is a poor attempt to deflect the issue away from the incompetence of our senior management AND the board of cronies.

Our remote/flexible work arrangement began long before the pandemic hit while Jeff was still here. So constantly using the pandemic as an excuse is laughable at best. The spin in these town halls would make a washing machine proud.
Also Companies in the same space aren't going full reta- I mean rto.

Lol, Frank doesn't surround himself with people that would dare challenge his ideas and gasp make him a better leader, he's got yes men. A guy that narcissistic does not want his (d-mb) ideas challenged.
