The comments made yesterday regarding the now confirmed effort to replace senior employees with younger talent more in touch with our target demographic were completely inappropriate. In fact, one could allege cause for violation of ADEA and any number of equivalent state protections. While we all knew these activities were taking place behind the scenes, the game changes when they are put on public record. Perhaps it’s time to take this information to the media and push for legal remediation. It will be very interesting to see if the replay is posted and, if so, whether or not the video will be altered to remove his statements. The company cannot afford another PR catastrophe. Creation of a hostile work environment is a core tenet of the ADEA and our leadership team has unequivocally checked that box several times in the last three months alone.
