Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Which areas are the most toxic here?

There is no doubt that the bank in general is deteriorating very quickly. I'm really interested in what you would say, which areas are the most toxic?

It's a shame, because it drives the remaining good employees to the competition, while the mediocrities collect easy paychecks.

TAS. Truist Audit Services is probably the most toxic. Turnover is 30%+ this year. No one likes working here or believes in management. They tried to work us to death during Q1/2 and now in Q3 there are folks sitting around doing nothing because they realized their unrealistic goals were a contributing factor to this “journey” they claim to be on. At least Dunn is done. He was very rude and disrespectful to the team on group calls. I feel bad for his new team. Cannot wait for the battles with them over audit issues in future.

For whatever reason, I came across this website in relation to this post.

Spelling aside, this may be an entertaining read. Note, there are at least two Truist folks profiled at that link.

Hands down Audit. 3rd company in audit and nothing compares to the dysfunction and unhappiness here. Short time here and know i made a big mistake. Complained to my manager who said even they have no clue what is going on.

Good question, as lots of groups at Truist are competing for the misery honor. Based on what I have seen the award has to go to Truist Wealth.

I don’t know if I have ever witnessed a large group where the executive leader was as universally despised, and without exception, as Joe Thompson at Wealth.

Compliance. I have never met a more lazy, incompetent group of people in my life.

I was an AVP at Truist, and I admit it - I was a real jerk! You just can't help it. There's something about having attained that coveted title that just goes to your head! Ah, to be young and an AVP at Truist again . . . an old man can still dream, I guess!

All areas of a bank are toxic. Banks are filled with "Don't you know who I am?!" folks.
"Don't you know who I am!?! I'm an Assistant Vice President! I can order anyone to do anything and they must comply!"

"Nurse, get me out of this Emergency Room and into a private room! Don't you know who I am?! I'm an Assistant Vice President at Truist! I can't be sitting with these commoners! Get me that private room, stat, or I will have your job!"

Banks (and retail) are filled with these people. All toxic.

Compliance. Clarke has a bunch of senior managers who have zero understanding how to properly manage staff and communicate direction/future plans. Creating more pain points for the business is not compliance.

Audit. That person came from a bank where the regulators bashed her audit team and issued MRA’s that she ignored for years and could not figure her way out. She is awful.

I'll do whatever it takes to become an Assistant Vice President. Whatever it takes.

IDK what is the most toxic. Audit sounds really bad with that leader they brought in last year bringing in her incompetent people and pushing out good people.

All banks are toxic unfortunately. Terrible career choice I made.
