The rumor goes something like; V trying to get their workforce somewhere under the 100,000 mark.
That would mean 18k-ish jobs.
Someone please tell me I'm wrong, and that this is all just a big misunderstanding.

New comp structure and accountability has a headcount reduction target of 10%. So by October we should be down to those figures in time to further extend store hours for the holidays making retail life awful by being understaffed again. Joy.
Actually, the headcount number is published in every quarterly report.
Headcount was 115.5k total. Yep, I could see 100k in the next few years.
TMO has 71,000 employees. I’m sure that’s not lost on the C Suite. So, yeah, sub 100k employees is coming.
It has been creaping in thet direction since verizon formed. Most every year headcount goes down and down.
I heard this same thing when the new CEO took over. Old rumor- however it may be why he was put in this position. It’s been creeping in that direction since he arrived. The bottom line is that Corporate will continue to streamline and outsource a little at a time. We are all kept off balance for a reason. Our Director here in the South worries about his job everyday. More is yet to come…. Especially with our stock price where it seems to stay
100k jobs or 100k US jobs? Depending on how many of thise 6k customer service employees are leaving they might be under
US wise already
The word “purge” doesn’t mean what you think it means. 1 for 3 on your use … smh
You're wrong, it's a big misunderstanding.
Fact of the matter is Verlison purged on the 5g UW spectrum, without a plan to implement it properly. Now we will chase after all the 'private' contracts, and try to make our money back. We will increase dividend payouts on the stock in hopes of investors wanting the dividend. We will purge money on more spectrum to try and make up for it. No different from the Yahoo purchase from back in the day. It's a lot of money wasted, due to poor leadership. With that comes a shrinking margin to pay for employees. Plus we are purging customers, less money yet again. All signs lead to bankruptcy. Look at the top leadership, he already did it to one 5g company previously. Let's not even mention how AI is playing a role in this.
