When I compare this now with Fiserv as it used to be, I realize with sadness how many of our best and most capable employees went to competitors, taking much of our institutional knowledge with them. I am quite shocked when I see who has replaced my former colleagues who possessed a wealth of expertise. So what to expect from Fiserv in the future? I don't have any high hopes, generally I am very disappointed.

From what I understand from First Data folks is this is the norm. Cut and cut and cut. Every year. Everywhere. Shrink yourself to greatness. Ciao.
Defintiely true on some level. However, some of us did try to document and it was wasted time. I left last month. I had a lot of documents I had created with details of product and process knowledge for myself. When I offered them to my management, she was so pi---d off at me for leaving that she said "they're not necessary, our team knows what it's doing..."
So even when you do have people with these docs, if the petty management above them act like this, the knowledge truly leaves. Guess this shows how toxic its really become.
I sure wish I had worked here before the tyranny. Unfortunately, I was hired just 2 Years ago. Now it is FUBAR. They run FISERV the way the current government does. Make stupid, nonsense decisions without asking... then what?

Ironic because we are supposed to be leaner and quicker now but all it has led to is longer times to turn things around because no one knows wtf they’re doing.
All of us who have left are far superior than to what's left. That much is certain.
I have no intention of training my replacement…when I decide to retire it will be quick…people don’t count here…
I can't tell you how many bridge calls I've been on (in many different companies) where everyone runs around like lunatics until that one person joins and says, "Oh yeah. Do this." Yeah, it's supposed to be a "known error" blah blah and written in up in Problem Management. Whatever. SMEs just know the stuff. They know it because they've been working with it every day for many years. A new employee doesn't learn that in a one-week KT session.
There was an effort several years back in the original Fiserv part to document everything. The thought was when a new hire came in they would have all the knowledge documented so Fiserv could lose a twenty uear employee and not miss a step. I don't think that effort produced any results.
Frank makes everything worse. Just listening to him speak to a room is nauseating.
Retaining institutional knowledge isn’t even a familiar term in FB’s playbook. He so does not value employees he doesn’t even consider the losses. Absolutely terrible and will be the final straw that not only breaks the camel’s back, but in fact euthanizes it.
It's so sad. Once we think we've hit bottom and it can't get worse, they somehow are able to make it worse. Sigh.
