I totally understand someone who wrote here that they don't have time to actively look for a new job due to being overloaded with work. That's probably something a lot of us face?

"Wow, if I learned that you _spit_ out a perfect resume using chat gpt I’m pretty sure I’d move it straight to the trash. While not deceptive, it shows a lack of integrity, IMO."
I rarely contribute to these conversations, but this one really made me chuckle.
All companies use non-human screening programs to reject a ton of resumes before a real person ever bothers to a few minutes looking at them - hand-authored resumes by job seekers trying to present themselves as well as possible, but maybe just missed one or two keywords. The algorithm concludes, "In to the bin with ya!"
While I, personally, wouldn't turn my resume over to chatGPT, I can certainly understand people at least asking why they should bother doing the hard work.
Plug in all the keywords and let chatGPT extoll your virtues on "synergizing the core competencies of Center of Excellence thought leaders, with a focus on ideating and curating through collaboration".
You have to start putting yourself first. If you died, the company would pass your work onto someone else. We have to find our own work life balance as this company doesn't really care about you. It's all about the stockholders getting higher returns.
@1phd+1n8Wllly: Lack of integrity? I call BS. A resume is not a writing test, it's a document to get you past the screenings. As long as it is honest, using AI to find the correct buzzwords and phrases is no different from having it written/edited by a professional resume writer.
Do an honest days work but limit your hours. My direct experience has been that leadership is the problem. I have VP's that take on insane projects that require many more people to build and manage however we do not get additional headcount. They also take on business they can't manage despite vehemently telling them not to do this. So there's another understaffed under managed platform where people put many more hours than they should. We have good people that want to meet customer expectations for service and deadlines at the expense of their personal time. This, despite what the VP's say, is exactly what they want. I will not sacrifice My personal time for this type of leadership and neither should you. Wake up to the corporate machine or it will eat you quite literally alive.
Stop putting in to much time but do more than the minimum. I used to limit myself to 9 hours, it's less these days. Trust me, it will be there tomorrow, the Next day and in a week when you take vacation. And for God sakes, use All you'r vacation days! You have to let things fall on the floor to get help.
Yes of cours. But if you want to get out of a toxic condition restrict yourself to 8 hrs and spend time on search
It's usually is not even the overwork but you not completely committed to finding a new job. Most people have a general idea they want to leave but not an urgent commitment
First things first, set some boundaries and push back work if you have too much. Do not, I repeat do not let them bully you into extra workload because others have been RIF'ed or left on their own with no backfill.
Plenty of quiet rooms existed in Alpharetta - use one from to time. Stairwell is also good. I used conference rooms too. Carry unlit cigarette with you and you HAVE to go outside. Carry it with you. Go to your car in parking lot too for 5 min.
If you look for a new job you will find one eventually

don't have time to apply for a job? weekends exist... its not like your resume is being read as soon as you send it.
If you're serious about wanting to leave, you will.
Legit applied during lunch today because it is my only free time.
Just do it during work hours. Not like performance is rewarded around here.
Some people will find an excuse to not do something. If you are that hard working at Fiserv, you should be able to find time for chat gpt to sp-t out a perfect resume, apply during lunch, evenings, etc. But someone will certainly respond with "I don't get a lunch!" Enjoy Fiserv then.
