Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Laying people off for the wrong reasons

They clearly laid off staff to help cover the expense of writing out dead inventory. As stupid as that is it's still really dead inventory that desperately needed to be liquidated. They're trying to set a cleaner financial state for the new fiscal year.

I understand that layoffs are sometimes necessary, but this was not one of those times. This was just a band-aid solution for a gaping wound problem and will not last. I'm sad that our "leadership" had to resort to something like this to make themselves look better.

Atleast Follett family cared. When they sold the 1st time, that group thought the wholesale team leaders made too much money so they did this exact thing and all the true leaders left. However those high paid leaders knew how to keep wholesale making money and dead stock gone without losing money. New untrained leaders lost money multiple years running and they closed wholesale completely. Anyone see where I am going? Doing the same thing with retail now so not expecting anything less this time.

The above statement is a flat out lie. Wholesale sat on millions of units that were not properly written off or valued accurately. Wholesale was also a place where retail could dump low or no value units and not take a hit to the books.

JRC grasping at straws to convince investors they didn't make a big mistake. Happy talk, easy to implement strategy. Follett family just too old fashioned to figure it out.
